Took my leopard gecko who had been having eye problems, drove an hour hoping for the best. The last vet I had seen for him wasn't a very good experience, these technicians and vet made that hour drive completely worth it. They not only helped him, but they helped teach me important info for what to do for his enclosure to make it a healthier environment and gave me packets on leopard gecko, enclosure, and led bulbs to help me be a better pet owner.

The honest to god best vet I’ve ever seen! I bring my guinea pigs here and I have a couple with special needs. Dr. Gravatte is incredibly knowledgeable and thorough, and the staff is just amazing. They’re kind, non-judgmental, and they genuinely care. I know a lot of reviews say that, but they really do. I have a skinny pig that has been having some health issues and they gave me several follow up calls days apart from his exam and the last call made. When he came back for an unrelated issue, they remembered him, loved on him, and went above and beyond you help me do what I needed to at home to get him all better. All this and more, and they’re the most affordable vet I’ve ever personally been to, especially for such a skilled, educated, and thorough exotic vet in Lexington! I am SO grateful to the Pennyroyal family for being an irreplaceable part of MY family!

Came in with a sick rabbit on Tuesday. Was told “not contagious”, Wednesday found another deceased rabbit. Thursday had 2 more exhibiting signs. Went in to find out what I can do to help them. Was yelled at and essentially blamed. “Stressful environment”. Sir these rabbits live a life of luxury and are well loved by 3 children. He came in the room mad and treated me such. I was told “treat or cull(kill) them but treatment likely won’t help” Thanks doc. Thanks for treating me so horribly and not caring at all about my emotions or the emotions of my children when I will have to tell them all their rabbits will die. He was lovely. Absolutely lovely and sympathetic. RIP to the rabbit he euthanized and the 12 more we have at home.
